Why are you passionate about mental health?
I am passionate about mental health because I am a parent of kids who struggle with mental illness. Advocating for them has shown me the struggle that individuals with a mental illness face and how hard it can be get services and supports. Through this journey I have met a lot of families like mine and individuals living with mental illness. Hearing their stories and struggles has compelled me to use what I have learned in advocating for my own kids to help others.

What are your goals as Program Manager?
Keep up the momentum and help affiliates to bring more programs to people across the state!

What are your goals for the future of mental health in Iowa?
Keep bringing awareness to the need for better services, more resources and stronger community connections.

What interested you in this position?
I love NAMI’s mission and wanted a chance to do purposeful work and more mental health advocacy every day as my job!

A fun fact?
I am an expert 4-leaf clover hunter. I look for them everywhere and have found more than 100!
