Welcome Sarah, NAMI Iowa’s Summer Intern
My name is Sarah Ball and I am an incoming junior at Drake University. I am studying Public Relations and Strategic Political Communication with a minor in International Relations (wow, a mouthful). This summer, I am working with NAMI Iowa as their Communication & Events Intern.
At school, I stay busy as the managing editor for the Drake Political Review, the non-partisan political magazine on campus, working as the vice president of Drake’s Rise Up, a club dedicated to suicide prevention, and as a Mentor in Violence Prevention (MVP), educating my peers on sexual assault awareness and bystander intervention. In the little free time I have, I also enjoy reading, hanging out with the people I love and watching dog videos on Instagram.
Health related advocacy is extremely important to me, so I am excited to help spread awareness and advocate for mental health through communications work & planning for the walk this summer!
More about me:
– I was born during a solar eclipse!
– I have a black belt in Taekwondo, but no one believes me.
– I have a collection of toy Volkswagen Beetle vans because it’s my dream car.
