Welcome Tara, NAMI Iowa’s New Intern
My name is Tara Larson and I’m a senior at Iowa State University. I’m studying journalism and mass communication as well as working toward a minor in general business. I’m working with NAMI Iowa this summer as the communication and events intern.
Throughout the school year I stay busy working with the Iowa State University Foundation as their student development assistant, and I work on campus for the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication as a communications assistant. I also stay busy reporting for the Iowa State Daily, a student-run daily newspaper, and attending Iowa State’s Public Relations Student Society of America chapter meetings.
I can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer at NAMI Iowa has for me, and I’m thrilled to be able to work for such a great cause.
More about me:
I have a huge sweet tooth—I lose all control around desserts. However, I somehow didn’t get my first cavity until I was 19 years old.
I once rode a day of RAGBRAI with a broken wrist. My surgeon was not pleased.
Although I’m sad that my position at NAMI Iowa is only for the summer, I’m excited about my next job beginning in the fall as an editorial apprentice at Meredith Corporation.
